Information about the Project ,,Restauration of former Kintai Evangelical Lutheran Church and adaptation it to the community and public needs“. No. EEE-LT06-KM-01-K-01-087

Kintai former Evangelical Lutheran Church  (cultural heritage object No  1637)  was built in 1705m.  and  can be characterized by its baroque style architecture with a historical church tower. The Church architecture style is very typical for sacral building of Eastern Prussia region.

Today more than 30% of  roof area is strongly damaged, many clay tiles are cracked. Concrete elements of the historical church tower are in a bad condition: wall cracks are expanding, thus the tower can lose its stability in the near future. The socle masonry is in a bad condition: the protective plaster is shattered and crumbled. Also the fundament masonry is shattered with crumbled masonry mortar. The facade plaster has many cracks, in places the plaster is completely crumbled off and the wall masonry is openly visible. The concrete pavement around the building is strongly damaged, so the ground moisture is comming inside.

Under theese circumstances, the building is not protected from environmental impacts, the technical and esthetical conditions are getting worse every year and soon it will not be suitable for meeting the needs of  community and society.

In order to restorer the authentical view and values of the church, the parish has applied  for a grant from EEA and Norwegian financial mechanisms, ant the Project ,,Restauration of former Kintai Evangelical Lutheran Church and  adaptation it to the community and public needs“ was confirmed.
